Positions Available:

COMMERCIAL APPRAISER

Effective July 14, 2026

The Grayson Central Appraisal District is accepting applications for the position of Commercial Appraiser.  Resumes will be accepted until filled.

Position Description: Performs activities and functions associated with the appraisal of all commercial properties within assigned categories. The Appraiser will be required to measure, class, and perform value studies on commercial and multi-family properties. Activities include: data collection, inspection, analysis, and application of generally accepted appraisal techniques; represent the District in the hearing process; and assist property owners with inquiries. Expected to successfully complete coursework sponsored by the Appraisal District and complete other requirements for certification with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Qualifications: College Degree with related college coursework or related experience/knowledge of real estate markets, appraisal theory, and construction techniques. Registered Professional Appraiser (RPA) designation preferred. Good computer and clerical skills. Must possess good public relations skills and aptitude for working as a team member and with the general public.  Must have reliable transportation, a valid Texas driver’s license, proof of liability insurance and a verifiable, acceptable driving record.  E.O.E.

Taxpayer Liaison Officer

A taxpayer liaison officer (TLO) must be appointed by the appraisal district board of directors in counties with a population of more than 120,000. The TLO is the appraisal district officer primarily responsible for providing assistance to taxpayers for the district, administering public access functions, resolving disputes not involving matters that may be the subject of a protest and compiling a list of comments, complaints and suggestions related to the fairness and efficiency of the ARB.
